FAKE RAW CONES COMPARISON
I made the mistake of purchasing fake RAW pre-roll cones. These were from Ebay and came direct from China. I want to make sure others don't do it. So I purchased a real set of RAW pre-roll cones from amazon.com to compare!
There are a variety of different pack sizes listed here (affiliate links, I am trying to keep this website ad free):
However, for my review, I had to get two packs that looked the same, to break down fake vs real.
The bottom package is the real Raw Pre-Roll cones. The fake RAW pre-rolls match the color of the table, use this as a reference as we progress through.
There are definite differences between packages. RAW probably change their design somewhat regularly, but the thing that struck me the most was the quality of the outer cardboard used between authentic RAW pre-rolls and fakes. Also the tape on the fakes is...well....crappy...the real RAW pre-rolls use cardboard folds to hold the box together compared with tape.
Real: "Only" vs Fake: "only". Grammar errors on fake products sent from China are to be expected. Just adds fuel to the fire.

Real RAW pre-roll cones use a cardboard push stick, the fake RAW pre-roll uses a plastic straw. I cannot be sure RAW have always used the cardboard tube, I have seen videos with what purports to be real RAW cones where the author has a plastic straw (unless they're unwittingly using fakes?). Note the weave on the real RAW pre-roll cones, hard to see..more on that later. EDIT: Confirmed via Insta on June 20 18 - RAW stopped using plastic straws 4 years ago.
About that weave. See how the right hand side has a slight weave in the cone? Yeah its hard to see on the photo but believe me it is there. RAW pre-roll cones have a patented weave to aid in a more consistent burn.
Real RAW pre-roll cones have a W shape in the filter cardboard, fake RAW pre-roll cones have a straight piece of cardboard.
I hope this helps in aiding your purchasing decision. Definitely recommend purchasing from a proper supplier on amazon.com!
